Internet access is a right. Awareness is a survival skill.
Nepal built the infrastructure fast — 4G reaches almost everywhere, and smartphones are in almost every hand. What didn’t keep pace was the knowledge to use that access safely. Thapaye exists to close that gap.
WHY WE STARTED
The pipes are built. The literacy isn't.
Nepal’s connectivity got ahead of itself. People came online faster than anyone taught them how to stay safe there — and into that gap walked scammers, fake news, and middlemen who profit from confusion.
We saw the same pattern everywhere we looked: cybercrime complaints rising year over year, banks losing money and trust to human error rather than broken technology, and existing training tools built for offices in another country, in a language most Nepalis don’t use at home.
So we built something different — awareness that doesn’t feel like a lecture. Something people actually finish, because it’s quick, it’s local, and it’s a little bit fun.

OUR APPROACH
From cybersecurity first, outward
We’re starting narrow and going deep: cybersecurity awareness, for Nepal, done properly — not ten things done halfway. Every later step (bank compliance tools, government service guidance, sector partnerships) gets funded by the success of the step before it, not by stretching today’s resources thin.
Start with people, not technology
Most successful cyberattacks succeed because someone clicked, trusted, or didn't know — not because the technology failed.
Localize everything
Real Nepali scams, real platforms (eSewa, Khalti, Messenger), real plain-language content — not translated-from-English filler.
Make it stick
Streaks and leaderboards exist because they're what makes people come back on day two, and day twenty.
